This past holiday season marked a major milestone for La Patisserie Amelie. We were proud to be part of the Distillery Winter Village for 52 consecutive days, making it our longest festival experience to date. To be honest, it was a bold step for us. We had never committed to an event of this length before, and we knew it came with both financial and operational risks. Still, we believed in our vision and decided to take that leap.

From the very beginning, we approached this experience with a clear vision. We knew exactly how we wanted customers to feel when they arrived at our cabin and picked up one of our products; the warmth of the holiday season, the joy of gifting, and a sense of pleasant surprise. With this vision in mind, we carefully selected and invested in packaging collections created by brands whose designs aligned with our aesthetic and values. From our cabin’s interior design and lighting to our overall visual identity and product variety, we invested thoughtfully in every detail, always prioritizing visual harmony, the spirit of Christmas, and an experience that felt both playful and premium.

Looking back, we can confidently say that the experience exceeded our expectations. The response from customers was the clearest sign that the risks we took were worth it. Many visitors returned multiple times throughout the Winter Village some came back the following day, while others reached out online after their visit to reorder. We also experienced high volume purchases on-site, with many customers selecting multiple flavors at once rather than a single product.

Dubai Chocolate quickly became our best-selling product throughout the season. At the same time, we were pleasantly surprised by the strong interest in Angel Hair, which was frequently requested even on days when it had already sold out. Alongside Dubai Chocolate, many customers chose full flavor selections including Mango, Coconut, Oreo, Angel Hair, and Biscoff. We consistently received positive feedback on the quality of our chocolates, from flavor and texture to presentation, which reaffirmed our commitment to craftsmanship and premium ingredients.

The season was intense and demanding. There were many days when we ran on very little sleep, working late into the night to prepare special and seasonal items while maintaining our quality standards. At the same time, our team continued managing wholesale orders and ongoing operations, while we focused on producing exclusive products for the Winter Village and other Christmas Markets that we have joined. Balancing multiple events, wholesale production, and daily stock replenishment was one of the most challenging aspects of the season, yet we are proud to say we never experienced stock shortages.

Many visitors were surprised to learn that our chocolates are handmade and proudly Canadian, especially given their premium presentation and detailed finishes. Spending such an extended period interacting directly with customers allowed us to receive immediate feedback, answer questions, and build genuine connections. In many ways, the experience felt like running a permanent storefront for nearly two months  a milestone that gave us immense confidence moving forward.

We are also deeply grateful for the support of the The Distillery Winter Village team. Their accessibility, organization, and ongoing assistance made a demanding season feel manageable. Despite the cold weather and long days, the festive atmosphere, music, and energy of the Winter Village kept both our team and our spirits high throughout the season.

This 52-day journey was more than just a festival for us. It was a defining chapter that reinforced our belief in our brand, our vision, and the community we continue to build.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who visited us, supported our work, and shared this journey with us throughout the season.
